Congratulations President-Elect Obama. ♥

It's been quite a night. Will things be perfect? No. Will there be finger pointing when things don't go right? Sure. That's the way of politics. To everyone who went out and voted today, thank you. No matter who you voted for -- thank you.

And that's it for me talking politics. Because I have too many friends on either side of the aisle right now and it's making me very meh tonight. Was he the best choice? I really don't know. I don't know if there was the proverbial best choice running. But this is who we have. Now, lets give the democrats 4 years to try and fix things.

Hey, it's only 4 years.

Best of all? I now can write my statement of purpose. Because part of his arts platform is EXACTLY what I want to do with my law degree.

I Voted!

But I have no sticker to show for it. I'm extremely bummed. I asked our neighbor who usually works the polls for one. She said they ran out. They. Ran. Out.

Dude.

Yes, I realise our precinct usually has a very low turnout. There's been nights when I've voted at 7pm and only been number 600 or so. But dude. Seriously? You ran out of stickers by 2pm? *sigh* yay for people on this side of town being teh stupid. But in the good news column, no irregularities with our machines that I noticed at least.

I was number 893. Mom voted at about 9 am and was number 280. *squee* Love this turn out.

And now I can't even get my cup of coffee from Starbucks. WOE.

And yes, the West Wing Icons will continue for the rest of the day. XD See, this is all the political junkie-ness I spared you guys from. ;o)

ETA: Because I saw this at work and wanted it somewhere easy to find.

I've been very good about not discussing politics in my journal this year. I have a lot of friends on both sides of the aisle and for me, I'm not completely thrilled with either candidate. Usually at this point in time is when I pull out my 'Republicans for Voldemort'.

But in any case, I'm going to be quoting West Wing quite a bit right now. As they say on the Episode 'Election Night': No matter who you vote for, make sure you vote. From reports I've been reading, it sounds like we're set up to have one of the highest voter turnouts in a long time.

So yes, no matter what, please vote. No matter who you're voting for, go vote. In my opinion, voting lets you make your choice. If you don't get your choice, you have the right to bitch about what's going on in the country. You don't vote, you lose that right. It may be one voice, but one voice can make all the difference.

I leave you with the opening scene of TWW 'Election Night'. Because it is brilliant. I don't know about you, but I'll be watching all the election returns tonight. Whee for being a political junkie!
