Happy Election Day! [A PSA]
Nov. 4th, 2008 09:12 amI've been very good about not discussing politics in my journal this year. I have a lot of friends on both sides of the aisle and for me, I'm not completely thrilled with either candidate. Usually at this point in time is when I pull out my 'Republicans for Voldemort'.
But in any case, I'm going to be quoting West Wing quite a bit right now. As they say on the Episode 'Election Night': No matter who you vote for, make sure you vote. From reports I've been reading, it sounds like we're set up to have one of the highest voter turnouts in a long time.
So yes, no matter what, please vote. No matter who you're voting for, go vote. In my opinion, voting lets you make your choice. If you don't get your choice, you have the right to bitch about what's going on in the country. You don't vote, you lose that right. It may be one voice, but one voice can make all the difference.
I leave you with the opening scene of TWW 'Election Night'. Because it is brilliant. I don't know about you, but I'll be watching all the election returns tonight. Whee for being a political junkie!
