thescarletwoman: (TV // TWW :: Block of Cheese Day)
I've been very good about not discussing politics in my journal this year. I have a lot of friends on both sides of the aisle and for me, I'm not completely thrilled with either candidate. Usually at this point in time is when I pull out my 'Republicans for Voldemort'.

But in any case, I'm going to be quoting West Wing quite a bit right now. As they say on the Episode 'Election Night': No matter who you vote for, make sure you vote. From reports I've been reading, it sounds like we're set up to have one of the highest voter turnouts in a long time.

So yes, no matter what, please vote. No matter who you're voting for, go vote. In my opinion, voting lets you make your choice. If you don't get your choice, you have the right to bitch about what's going on in the country. You don't vote, you lose that right. It may be one voice, but one voice can make all the difference.

I leave you with the opening scene of TWW 'Election Night'. Because it is brilliant. I don't know about you, but I'll be watching all the election returns tonight. Whee for being a political junkie!

I was thinking about this while I was finishing my last day of work and consequently... I of course had to ask this. A while ago I asked about shipping preferences. Now that we're a good six months after DH's release and all of us have had time to absorb the end of canon, I figured I'd ask you guys. And as always, feel free to send this around and pimp it like mad! ♥

And never have I had a better post to use this icon. *g*

So, while talking with [livejournal.com profile] dramaphile tonight, she gave me the most horrid crack bunny that is currently eating my brain. And is also being written right now. Because [livejournal.com profile] froda_baggins wouldn't tell me NOT to write it.

James/Lily potfic. All I have to say.

But -- important thing is to have 1970s slang. So I began looking things up. And we've come across this:

Muggles - US term for marijuana, which originated in the 1930s

[livejournal.com profile] thescarletwoman: JKR. Pothead.
[livejournal.com profile] dramaphile: now JKR's world makes SO MUCH SENSE
[livejournal.com profile] thescarletwoman: DOESN"T it?
[livejournal.com profile] dramaphile: so really, dumbledore is pro-drugs
[livejournal.com profile] thescarletwoman: yes, yes he is.
[livejournal.com profile] dramaphile: and lucius malfoy is like the DEA?
[livejournal.com profile] dramaphile: and Voldie is The Man
[livejournal.com profile] thescarletwoman: got any c man... got any d man...?
