Awwww! ♥ I love you guys!

This was such a nice surprise to log on today and see a bunch of snowflake cookies. *snugs to [livejournal.com profile] freckles42, [livejournal.com profile] midnitemaraud_r, [livejournal.com profile] letmypidgeonsgo, [livejournal.com profile] mindabbles, [livejournal.com profile] coffee_n_cocoa, [livejournal.com profile] danbi, [livejournal.com profile] pinkfinity, [livejournal.com profile] kerryblaze and [livejournal.com profile] heather11483. Seriously, made my day. :^D

So law exams began today. Order is as follows:
1. CivPro
2. Torts [thursday]
3. Contracts [monday]
4. CrimLaw [wednesday]

I feel MUCH better having one under my belt. Granted, I'm sure I'm going to have a massive freakout on tuesday or wednesday about that exam. But... that's for another day.

Now I'm making myself a drink, relaxing for a bit... and then off to start the Torts Marathon.

Also? It's about 99% sure that I will be attending Gallifrey. What can I say? I've been bitten and bitten hard by the con bug. *sheepish* Anyone else going?

♥ I hope you guys are all doing well. I miss you and I miss being able to check up on things on LJ. I just... don't trust myself just yet to not get sucked into the land of LJ. ♥ Love you lots and thank you for all the good vibes lately. They help!

Hurricane Who was utterly fantastic and thanks for making my first con so utterly fantastic. I wish I could have done the entire weekend, but law school called and I really couldn't take more time than I did. But I'm glad I got done what I could!

As always, fantastic to see [livejournal.com profile] halfspell, [livejournal.com profile] flyingtonowhere, Shannon and Dexy. ♥

Also was able to meet up with some really amazing folks. The small con was nice, to be honest -- especially because it was easier to hang out and meet up with folks. Got to meet the loverly [livejournal.com profile] kerryblaze as well. ♥ And hung out with [livejournal.com profile] dvcorvis and [livejournal.com profile] veta_black at iHop Saturday night. Even if poor [livejournal.com profile] veta_black got sick.

Of course, have to mention getting to meet the amazingly fabulous [livejournal.com profile] scifichicx who was dressed as dead!Ianto for Saturday. I have to admit, one of my big highlights of the day was getting to do some 're-enactment shots'. They turned out SO awesomely. ♥ However, those I'll post up only if I have her permission to do so. ;^)

I'm still waiting on pictures from Dexy, so once I have them, I'll post 'em up. And my own personal pictures from the Con as well too. Hello flickr, it will be nice to meet you. :^D

I have to say, it was utterly fantastic to meet Gareth David-Lloyd. He's such a nice guy and is wonderful to just listen to as well. Between him doing his John impersonation to the "this is what Panto looks like" were hysterical. And always nice when the canon you have in your head matches up with the actor's.

It was, really, an amazing weekend and I'm so glad I took off. However, we are now back to the daily grind and back to the land of law school. By the way -- I finally broke down and got a twitter. And since I have my blackberry... well, I'm on it during class. SHUSH! DON"T JUDGE ME! In any case -- the twitter: inthesestones.

Oi! Sorry for the radio silence here! ♥

I am, though, here in White Plains and safe and sound. Loving my new apartment and getting used to living with someone. That... is an adventure, but at least the roommie is a geek like me, so it helps. A lot. :^D

Hey, we have a remote control Dalek on our mantle. What more could I ask for?

Oh, I know! White Plains, stop being so fucking hot and humid so I can actually go exploring!

Also! I'm an aunt twice over! :^D a little belated posting these but I was waiting for pictures... and haven't gotten them. Or, rather, I have but they're on my old phone and mom has yet to email them to me. *sigh*

♥ Kayo Charlie --> born 15 July
♥ James Douglas III --> born 31 July

So after the nieces, I have nephews! *squee*

And Law School. Orientation starts on monday and I just finished going through some of my syllabuses. Let's just say that my Torts professor has managed to scare the ever living shit out of me -- and I didn't think that was at all possible after Oltman. Final grade is based solely on one 4 hour closed-book exam. Come unprepared to class 3 times and he won't allow you to sit for the exam. Not that I'm PLANNING on being unprepared? But still. Fuck me.

♥ How have you guys been my lovelies? Tell me something good that's happened in your life, no matter how tiny or insignificant.

♥♥♥

Thank you guys SO much for all the birthday wishes on Saturday. Day was loverly and I got to spend time with my fabulously gay boyfriend at a gay bar in the evening. *g* Was absolutely fantastic. Hard to believe I'm running out of time here in Erie. Yeesh.

If anyone is interested, there is a statement from Gareth on his website. And it reads like the typical 'they asked me to say this diplomatically' which I can't blame him for. I DO feel wretched for James Moran who had been SO open to talking to fans which is wonderful for us. But to those of you (not saying any of them are on my flist) who did abuse the poor man for shame. Honestly, for shame.

It's taken me a good four days to finally feel as if I'm not reeling from this. TV shouldn't make you feel as this made me feel. And things damn near broke my Jack!Muse. I don't know who is really still unspoiled as to what happened but until it airs in the US I'll be good.

I'm, at last, working on fic. The sequel to the Trace Memory fic from Jack's POV has been put on the back-burner (it's half done) for the time being while I work on fixing CoE. Or, at least, finding a deserved ending.

FLIST LOVE: Thanks, guys, for bucking me up over this whole thing. I am feeling a lot better about it. Particularly when I learned that a, George Washington fell to 28 and b, the rankings this year COMBINED part time and full-time students. So it's not like things really changed, it's just because friggin' USAToday ranks things with LSATs and GPAs primarily and the PT programs aren't as strong.

So I'm still going. And if worst comes to worst, I'll transfer at the end of 1L. And, too, it's the program that's getting me to London and studying for a semester at the University of London, College of Laws is nothing to sneeze at either.

So, in other words, thanks guys. ♥ Don't know what I'd do without you lot.

TORCHWOOD: LOOKIE! FIC! I know. Two fics from me in a short amount of time. *loves the shiny Torchwood* And if you haven't seen? Potential release date for Children of Earth. So, BBCAmerica, how long will you guys make us wait, hrrrrm?

TRAVEL: In other news, am out of the country this weekend to visit [livejournal.com profile] rose_whispers. Those who have it, feel free send txts to the cell. Calls are insanely expensive, but texts are love! ♥ And please tell us that just because Canada's Wonderland opens on Sunday we're stupid to go. :^)

ETA: Also, GIP!

I'm... slowly working through comments. I honestly and truly love you guys beyond words. I am doing loads better than I was about a week ago. Am I still disappointed in my score? Yeah, I am. But I also know it's not the end of the world. I am going to retake them in October and have already talked to Kaplan and got a new set of materials to start working. So, starting on monday -- I'm going to work my ass off even harder.

I know I can do this. And I know a lot of this is mental. I know I'm smart -- but I also know I've felt as if I've been going uphill for a couple of years after the car accident. And I know I haven't been the same since. But my mindset just feels different this time around. So... we'll see how that goes, eh?

Just simply -- ♥ thank you. I don't know what I'd do without so many truly amazing people in my life.

My birthday is tomorrow -- and I'm going to be 24. Holy shit, where has this time gone? Though -- an appropriate birthday present to myself is the fact that I've lost about 16 pounds since May. Could have been more, but there were a couple of things stressing me out during June. No idea what they could have been. None whatsoever. ;o) *cheers Weight Watchers* I've even gotten back into my Gap jeans! *squee*

Also! To Cleveland this weekend to celebrate my (and Jonno's) birthday. w00t! On Friday when I got my score, [livejournal.com profile] sbnrko35 basically ordered me to Cleveland this saturday and said I was sleeping on his floor. So, no offense [livejournal.com profile] avengangle! I'll crash with you guys in a couple of weeks. And have to figure out when [livejournal.com profile] xpolmex and I can get our butts over to Cedar Point. So much to do, and the summer's nearly half over! Gyah!

So the main point of this post...

Comment here and I'll give you a pick-me up. A nice word, piece of music (and yes, it'll be b'way oriented. shush), or just something to brighten your day. Because you guys brighten mine.

First of all: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

That's all I can say right now. I've been re-reading comments from you guys on my writing post and am... well, gobsmacked. You guys have seriously left me speechless. I didn't post that in seeking out pats on the back and I nearly did disable comments. But...

I'm without words. I'm slowly trying to form responses to you guys so they are coming. I just didn't want the weekend to come without saying thank you. It's been a really low couple of weeks for me and the encouragment... was exactly what I needed to hear.

So in short -- here's a massive thank you to the flist. ♥

In other news? I got the first good night's sleep in I don't know how long. melatonin=love. Seriously.

Also have a gig this weekend! Huzzah! and paying too but shhhhh. that's on the dl. The conductor flew in from Germany yesterday and worked with the little chamber ensemble for about an hour. It's a baroque piece (yay BW and their Bach love)... and the conductor complimented me not only on my playing but how excellent I was playing the music stylistically. Never thought I'd say this but... Thank you Dwight Oltman.
