While it may quasi-rhyme... it doesn't have the same ring as La Vie en Rose, but what are you going to do?

Sorry for my absence all of last week -- I seem to have gotten hit with whatever bug's been going around. Stuffy, sore throat and a cough -- oh joy. Best of all... it left me with an attention span to rival a goldfish's. However, I'm finally feeling better or at least starting to. I broke down and called the doc for some drugs. Ugh I need a full time job. Paying for prescriptions out of pocket as I have NO drug coverage... really bloody sucks.

my [livejournal.com profile] hp_springsmut is eating my brain. Seriously. I have one more scene to write at long last. But god... it turned into a monster. An absolute monster.

And happiest news of all? today is my LAST DAY at the station! Everyone pop out the booze, it's going to be a party in here tonight!

Now... if only the courthouse would bloody call me BACK and say if I got the job working as a Tip Staffer, life would be brilliant.

First of all, thanks guys for the comments on my last post. It did help in the cheering up. I have to go back and comment to you guys, but really -- just know that you all rock in the cheering-up category. ♥

And it's official! I now have Ubuntu! *dance o'joy* thanks to [livejournal.com profile] avengangle's boy, I now have two pretty shiny operating systems on my computer. And really, I cannot see myself going back to XP. I know I'll have to in order to run certain programs of mine (Like Finale, Sims if I ever start playing again, etc...) but I simply love the interface and the functionability of Ubuntu. It's... an OS for computer geeks and when you need help with something, it's other computer geeks helping you out. It's simply brilliant.

Also -- if anyone knows of a client a la Semagic that can be used to update LJ/IJ (even simultaneously)... please pass it along!

In other news, am currently sick as a dog. I called in sick to work yesterday which I was thankfully able to do as we're basically caught up with editing. My head is still stuffed up and I feel like I'm coughing up a lung. YAY SINUS INFECTION!

Only... not.

Bah

So I've been sick with a sinus infection for the past... I don't know how long. Started with a migraine that lasted a good five days (and really, still is kinda lurking *sigh*) and degenerated from there. I suppose I should be happy. It's the first cold I've had in I can't tell you how long.

In other news... am SO close to being done with teaching I can almost taste it. 15 more classes and then I am -done-. I honestly don't know if I'm going to go back in the fall. The money was good, don't get me wrong -- but as I'm really deciding that I'm not going into music for grad school, the more I'm deciding that it might be smarter to get a job interning or working somewhere that would actually benefit me.

Now -- if I could just stop hacking up a lung, life would be absolutely BRILLIANT.

ETA: I owe everyone and their mother, brother and sister comments. I'm getting there. Really.

So yeah, it is/was a sinus infection. Yippie.

Getting better. It's also made me realise that this whole working two jobs thing is for the freaking birds. Yes, I like Starbucks, but there's a larger part of me that's miserable working at the same time. Yes, I also know that work isn't supposed to be fun. However, I'm WAY too goal oriented to stay at something like this.

That, and I REALLY get tired of the yuppies treating us baristas like they 'own' us. I MAY be a server, but I'm not your servant.

TRYING to find another job and hoping either my teaching hours get doubled or something similar. Because as of right now, I'm NOT working enough at Starbucks to get benefits and it's not worth killing myself for a little above minimum wage and not getting benefits which was the reason I applied in the first place. So yeah, hoping to find something around here that's decent. Hoping.

[livejournal.com profile] froda_bagins is evil. She's managed to hook me on yet ANOTHER tv show. Grrrrr. (♥)

In other and much more fun news -- we saw The Prestige tonight. I promise, this is very non-spoilery. ZOMG. SO much love for Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman... that man looks brilliant in period clothing. Loved the film and really want to see it again.

Lastly, it's [livejournal.com profile] sbnrko35's birthday this week. And because Tim is SO organized, he told me about the party in Cleveland... today. For a party tomorrow. Still am able to go because Starbucks schedule allows it. Wheeeee.

It's dirty girl scout time. XDDDD

No, this is NOT a sinus infection.

Tell me this is NOT a sinus infection.

I don't have TIME for a bloody sinus infection.
