Yes, I owe a bunch of comments, but this is just a quick pop in before I pop back out.

Fiddler on the Roof officially owns my soul. Doing pit work isn't that bad. Occasionally I'm exhausted after a show, but it's usually not so bad. HOWEVER. Being in a show is so completely draining it's not even funny.

The production runs for another two weeks (this weekend and next) then I get a bit of a rest, then it's off to NYC for a day. Huzzah and goodtimes there.

Off to work on the thesis that will NEVER END. I swear... if I ever have to look at this thing again? I'll cry. Revisions, revisions, revisions. Maybe not getting into grad school for Music History really WAS a blessing in disguise.

I'm inclined to think it WAS right about now.

Tradition!

Popping in for a mid-hell-week update on Fiddler. It's going... well... it's going. I know a lot of you have done theatre shows... and this? Well...

As our director (David) said last night, the actors suck. First dress was one of the worst shows he'd EVER seen. And as Richard added, everyone basically has ONE costume. It shouldn't have been this difficult (the poor Russians though... they have a LOT of fast costume changes).

However, I'm the only one who, at notes last night, got a 'wonderful job'. Usually as all David does is tell you you suck (even if you're doing a good job. It's just David's crazy way) so a complimenet is one of those 'must write this date down'.

It has, though, been a blast being on stage. Whether it's up on my really freaking high roof or down on stage dancing in 'To Life' it's been an absolute blast.

WHICH brings me to the really cool thing -- and completely unrelated to Fiddler. A few weeks ago, I got an email from Mrs Co about a job opportunity. It's a dance/fiddling touring troupe called 'Barrage' (has anyone heard of them or seen them perform? If so, let me know how it was and some stuff about it). From what I gather, it's like Riverdance for fiddlers. I've had SUCH a good time doing Fiddler that I'm seriously thinking about sending in some information to them and see what happens.

Well, this has been the most NOT fun week in a looong while. Can't exactly
remember when it started hurting, but this past week, my wrist began to hurt
like a you know what. With Fiddler coming up, I was too scared to
risk jumping online and further making it hurt.

Quite the scary thing to be a musician and have your wrists hurt. First
thing that's going through my mind is tendonitis... and I'll cry if that's
really what's wrong.

So, guess who put herself on a self-imposed internet silence last week? I
can tell you it sucked and I miss chatting with everyone, but I couldn't
risk it. The wrist is better, so, fair warning, I'm going to be in and out
this coming week if it gets bad again.

Speaking of Fiddler, it's a blast and I want to shoot myself all at
the same time. Rather than ONE hell week, we get TWO. And these rehearsals
have been HELLISH. Running SMOOTHLY, this is a 3+ hour show. When people
don't know lines, lyrics and we have to stop for tech stuff? All I have to
say is I was at the theatre from 6pm to about 10:45... and we didn't finish
all of the show.

Opening night is thursday, so then my life will be back and slowed down and
I can rest (yes, [livejournal.com profile] froda_baggins I said rest. :P). If anyone needs
me, those of you with my cell can call me, or email me. :)
