So -- I totally forgot to share this story from during the run of Stand By Your Man. The moral of the story is -- either I have no brains... or I have a set of balls I didn't know I had.

Upstairs in the girls' dressing room, we found an old copy of cosmo, prolly just a couple months old. And in it was this section of 'hot pics of men from around the country'. So, we went through the magazine and found a couple of really GOOD looking men. The cool thing, they were bachelors from each of the 50 states.

The one we loved the best, was from Akron, OH (slight geographical note -- Akron is a bit south of Cleveland -- in other words prolly 3-4 hours away from Erie. I don't remember, I haven't driven it in a while).

Meet Mr Bachelor from Ohio )

See why we were going gaga over him?

Funny thing -- he had his email address listed. So, the girls and I joked about inviting him to the show. Came back second weekend and we STILL joked about it. Until I said, fine -- I'll do it. So, pulled out my phone and emailed the guy and we all laughed about it.

Next day, he emailed me back, asking when the shows were. We all were floored. I emailed, told him when and he WOULD have come to our final show -- had he not had plans.

I'm still... shocked that I did this. I don't DO things like this.

But still -- it's an amusing story. ;)

And, at last, Stand By Your Man has closed today. I'm falling into bed now, as I've been hit with a nasty cold. It's either from someone in the cast or, more likely, one of the little children I'm teaching.

That's the ONE bad thing about working with kids. The little buggers seem to ALWAYS be sick.

In any case -- some changes here on the home front. I've officially quit Starbucks. Officially. Done. Kaput. Tuesday is my last day and I can't say I'm sorry. Yeah, I'll miss it there because it IS fun to make drinks. However, when I make $25 a week (as I can only work Tuesdays) and that $25 goes to my chiropractor -- it isn't worth it.

So only the symphony and my private students. I'm suddenly a LOT less stressed. However -- the mental issues are still there. And aren't going away yet. *sigh*

On the bright side -- I'm trying to immerse myself back into fandom. I haven't had the chance to read my flist in a while and I apologise. Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. But -- I need to get back into writing as my muse has ignored all temptings of Cheez-its.

So -- my darling flist. I require your help. Prompts and pairings. Dangle something fun in front of my muse and wake him back up. Harry Potter fandom, and really any pairing. (Though, I may not write Filch/Squid/Dumbledore foodsmut....) Tempt my muse, people!

Things are surprisingly good on the homefront. It's just been busy as hell. As evidenced by the time I'm posting this -- I've barely been home a lot in the past couple of weeks. But it is all coming to an end on Sunday.

I, Lia -- am in a show. Yes, that's not that surprising to those of you who know me. However -- the main point of this is that I am singing in this. And have speaking lines. The show is great (called Stand By Your Man and is the story of Tammy Wynette) and for the most part has been fun. There are a couple of assholes involved that are taking away the fun. But -- what can you do?

I've been at the theatre for the majority of my days and nights -- between helping mom finish up costumes, my own rehearsals, and hanging around while dad finishes doing stuff with the mikes, it's led to some very late nights.

We open on Thursday and it's a short 2 week run. yippie for that.

Also? This stomach bug that's going around? Really freaking sucks. It's knocked me on my ass for the past two days. Bread and applesauce and Tim Horton's Bagels = ♥ right about now...

In other news, jobs are good. I'm doing some great business with teaching and am supposed to be getting a few more private students. The point I'm at -- if I can get four more students, I'm quitting Starbucks. Hell, I'm getting really close to doing it right now. I don't need the job to be honest and it's not doing much good for my back to be perfectly honest.

Sadly, ended up not taking the Law class. It got moved to a night I had conflicts so it didn't work out. Woe. But -- it might have been for the best. I have some other 'irons in the fire' so to speak. XD

And now I'm collapsing into bed. It's been a long few weeks. I still *sigh* owe some packages, but as it's after New Year's -- I wanted to wait for the concert DVD from New Year's Eve to come in. If it's not here by the end of the week, they're going out on Monday. I'm tired of waiting. Bah.

♥ love you all. And my days are counting down to when I can sit online for evenings and not have to bloody go ANYWHERE at night.
