Political Musings
Apr. 22nd, 2008 10:14 amSo for us Pennsylvanians, we go to the polls today. For my actual registered party (yes, I'm a registered Republican), there's not much really going on for us. I'm still on the fence as to if I'd rather change political parties or not. There are some things I agree with on the Republican side and others on the Democrat side. Being that PA is a state where you have to vote along party lines in primaries, it rather screws me over unless I want to keep changing tickets every damned election.
Then again, there's always write in votes...
I'm interested to see how this whole thing will pan out today. Personally, my own opinion of how the pieces of the democrats will fall is once we get to the Convention (oh how I'd love to be there just to WATCH the political process). Neither of 'em can win the first ballot and I seriously wonder if the reason John Edwards has been silent for so long is because someone will nominate him from the floor and we have a three-way race. Two people the majority of the country are sick of seeing bicker and one fresh-faced and new.
This theory is also known as the plotline of the end of Season Six of the West Wing.
We're heading to the polls after dinner and I'm expecting to glue myself to MSNBC for the majority of the evening and watch this pan out. I may not talk about politics much here, but when it comes down to it, I'm a political junkie. Doesn't matter what the race is -- stuff like Obama vs Hillary? Warms my little heart. Is it any wonder why I want to go into law?
I really need to drag out my Republicans for Voldemort icon again...
ETA: Happy Earth day! Do something good for the environment today! ♥
ETA2: I may be coming out of the closet so to speak as being a republican, but those in the cleveland gang know I'm very much not a batshit insane republican. I probably do swing closer to the Democratic side of things, but registered Republican as you take the party of your parents usually when you first register. The past year I've been debating if I should switch or not. And yes, in the last election I voted for Kerry. So, I'm not the devil or anything. *g*
