A few bullet points because I'm so fucking tired it isn't funny.

Torchwood Picked up for Series 4.

Good luck, Rusty. Can't wait to see how you're going to pull this one off. And if this is "let's get a new cast + Jack"? I don't know how I feel about it. Yes, I watch for John and I freely admit this point. But I don't want to start watching for a group of new cast members -- why get attached to any of them when you know they're just going to get picked off one at a time?

I just feel like the fandom response... is going to bring out the batshit again. *sigh*

• I will be catching up with all my tags tomorrow. I've officially had 6 (roughly) twelve-hour days down at the theatre. I was supposed to have the day off today. yeah... only, not so much there. I'm fucking exhausted and anything that would come out of Jack's mouth at this point in time would be gibberish.

• Words you never want to hear come out of your mother/boss's mouth: Oh. I didn't realise ComicCon was now. You should have said something. We'd have worked around work to let you go this weekend.

And she wondered why I started crying and banging my head against the cutting table.

• Apparently there was John/David snoggage at SDCC. Photo-evidence anyone? NAO PLZ.

I'm off to bed and attempt to actually get some sleep tonight. ♥

1) Russell has said that he liked bringing in a new companion every year for the Doctor because it 'felt like a brand new show each time'. No doubt he feels the same about TW. Whether it'll work or not is unknown. There are a lot of shows with revolving casts these days, but usually it's not so many people in so short a span of time. I think that a lot of people will at least give it a try and then see if they like it.

Personally, I'm kind of tired of any shows killing off characters on a regular basis for just the reasons you cited, but that seems to be the growing trend with dramas these days. So it's not gonna go away soon.

2) I hate to sound snotty but I'm kind of getting tired of the batshit (not from you, obviously). The Janto fans only comprise a small percentage of the fandom even if they're the loudest and the most enthusiastic. I know they'd like to think no one watches the show for any other eason but Jack/Ianto, but that's hardly the case. CoE had the highest numbers of the week when it aired in Britain, and I doubt that the majority of UK viewers only watched for that ship and that ship only. So plenty of people (myself included) will tune in to see the show again. There will be people who don't, just as there are David Tennant fans who categorically refuse to watch the next season of DW because he's no longer there. Their choice, but all this doom and gloom and pedantic belief by a lot of J/I fans that they're going to bring the show down is really pissing me off. I heard the same thing from Tara/Willow fans back in the days of Buffy and guess what? It didn't happen. (And I don't mean to sound like I'm lecturing you personally. I'm just really tired of the non-stop tantrums from a segment of the fandom who, as usual, think they're more entitled than the rest of us.)

3) I keep hearing about the John/David snoggage, but so far it's been all hearsay and no visuals. Damn it. *pouts* David's also threatened to show up to his panel buck naked tomorrow if the entire audience shows up dressed as the 10th Doctor. Hee!

See, this is what I don't get. You have two criteria: it's got to be called "Torchwood" and it's got to have Jack in it. Now, from where I was standing, it looked like Jack pretty categorically severed himself from Torchwood at the end there, so you can have one or the other, but not both. Unless Jack were to be all "just kidding" and return to Earth, which would take away all the impact from that ending (which I actually thought was good, PowerRanger!Jack notwithstanding). I know! Maybe it'll be set way in the future. Or maybe Jack will complete his transformation into the Doctor and come back to Earth "because he's needed" or something.

I wish I...you know, cared!
