Work is absolutely insane, but I'm loving every minute. Producers is going to be a blast, not only to play but to work on the show in the shop. Saying it right now -- if any of you lot are going to be in the Erie area in September, you totally have to come see it. Cleveland gang -- you're coming and there's no choice in the matter.

As for weight loss -- I started Weight Watchers on May 1st -- and while I'm not ALWAYS the best at tracking what I eat during the day, I hit my first major milestone: I've lost twenty pounds to date. I'm extremely, extremely proud of myself. And knowing this was a lot of the weight put on when I took both vioxx and topomax for my migraines I'm absolutely stoked.

Still have a long ways to go -- but it's a start!

Hope everyone is having a brilliant week so far. ♥

Also -- totally random side note: four years later and I STILL want to jump Michael Phelps. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] lisabel, I found that icon you made for me. *coff*

Oh, seriously - congratulations on that! Well done! That's not just a start, that's an amazing start :) Here's to you hitting all your milestones!

(and, I don't discriminate really. Michael Phelps...any of those swimmers/divers with the beautiful bodies...I'd jump quite a few of them)

Congrats on the 20 pounds!!! Whenever I hit a milestone, the next time I was in a supermarket I would grab that amount of weight in 5lb bags of sugar and walk with it. It really hits you how much you've lost!

Once you get on a roll with it, it's not hard to stay focused. It's just learning to eat portions. Aka -- you eat 16 sweettarts instead of the WHOLE damn box. ;o)

Congrats, but that brought up the question (to which I totally should know the answer): what are you currently doing for your migraines?

Medicinal weight gain is a bitch. (She says, having gained 10 lbs on the Pill. Yes, I know I should shut up, but I've read stories about people gaining like 30 lbs on anti-depressants, or all sorts of other random weight from drugs that AREN'T EVEN STEROIDS.)

I'm on Maxalt which I take just when I have one. Or, more aptly, I take when it's bad enough I notice one.

[The vioxx was the worst one. I swear it took me from about 190 to 230.]

My dad's started getting migraines, for some reason (he's had like, 2, total) but -- and I totally don't recommend this, I'm just putting it here as a WTF? -- if he drinks a Red Bull, they go away immediately.

... weird.

that makes sense actually. The rush of caffiene can often get rid of headaches. Hence why Excederin has it in there.

Our family thing used to be: take two tylenol, chug as much of a 12 oz can of coke as possible. (has to be classic, not diet), and belch.

Strangely, it works...

If all else fails, it sounds like fun . . .

He says that Excedrin doesn't work as well as Red Bull. I'll mention the Tylenol and Coke thing to him at some point. :)

Way to go! I've got a couple of friends on Weight Watchers and they are all very happy with the results. My mother, who is a nutrition counselor and personal trainer for retirees in Florida, was impressed with how good WW is now (compared to when she tried it in the 1970s and they really knew almost nothing about nutrition it seems...)

Speaking of which, if you haven't seen these, they are hilarious. I love her commentary:

http://www.candyboots.com/wwcards.html

(it's a collection of WW recipe cards from the 1970s she found in the attic. A sample comment: "I showed this card to a friend who said, 'What the hell's in that bowl-- bong water?!' Is that why the ceramic animals are so drawn to it? Is it their magical pond?")

Oooh. I'll definitely check that link out.

I really like their programme. And the other good thing is that they have a lot of their own food out if you want to use it (but you don't have to) and everything actually tastes good. Not cardboardy healthy.
