Apparently, according to TLS, scores are out. My mother is trying to convince me that they're not out and this is just a bunch of people fucking with us. And she also doesn't get why I'd post my score online when I get them.

Thus far... I have nothing.

Oh god, I'm ready to throw up.

ETA: I got my score. Don't expect to see me tonight. I'm drinking heavily. I'm a fucking failure and I'm retaking in October.

*hurl* I'm waiting for my grade, too. I remember that awful LSAT feeling. I'm assuming you've checked LSAC? IIRC, they send them out in batches - so just because someone else has theirs, doesn't mean that yours is ready yet.

Check LSAC, because IIRC it showed up there before I got the email about it.

*big hugs* You are NOT a fucking failure. Standardized tests like this are the work of the devil and sometimes they're just hard to fathom. I pretty much tanked on my GREs 3 times before I went and took a Kaplan course which helped me a lot. My PSATs? Total failure. My SATs? Tanked the first time, did better the second time. The only ones I ever did well on were my ACTs and that's because they were more reading comprehension than just those stupid analogies etc. (To this day, my parents think my awful PSAT scores were due to my missing a question and then putting the wrong answers in the wrong line all the way through. It might even be true!)

Even if you don't get into law school, that doesn't mean you're a failure. *insert nasty lawyer joke of your choice here* My maternal grandfather (who was a professional violinist, btw!) only went to law school to impress his would-be in-laws. Once he got out, he refused to take the bar or go further because he hated lawyers...and went back to being a musician. :)

It may not be as bad as you think. When you're ready, compare your undergrad GPA and LSAT score to the statistics here:

http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/

This is a GREAT resource to help you figure out what scores/grades actually get in, as opposed to what the stupid LSAC says. I was SO disappointed with my LSAT score, but I was accepted to 3 out of the 4 schools I applied to. There is SO TOTALLY still hope.

*hugs* You are so not a failure. Standardized tests are like that; failing one is definitely not an indication of lack of intelligence. ♥

Try not to freak out too much, hon. Everyone (except for the freaks that get into Harvard on numbers alone - and who wants to be like them?) wishes that they could have done better. It's the elitism built into the system... unfortunately you sometimes just have to lower your expectations. (I did.)

You are NOT a failure, I can't stress that enough. I mean, I know it feels like it right now you can't help that, but you are so incredibly NOT a failure. If nothing else, because the friends I have who went to law school - they had to take the LSATs 2-3 times and they're now all published lawyers working for the government, so you're very much not alone :). And that aside, standardized tests are an indication of nothing worthwhile, let alone your ability to be a good lawyer, or to be amazing at anything else, or intelligence for that matter.

You will retake, you will kick ass - and even if you don't, you're still not a failure. The system, it just likes to screw with you and make you feel that way.

You are so NOT a failure, honey! Standardized tests suck and, even if well designed, basically only prove that you can take tests well.

You're fantastic and we all love you!

You'll probably not read this until after you've puked your guts our from drinking so much to forget everything...which will make you feel like a worser failure (yes, I said worser...it's a word...sorta) but you gotta shake it off and start getting ready for the next round of tests.

Was it really that bad? Do you get to find out what was fuckin' ya up?

I'm so sorry!

I'm so sorry, honey. But - and remind yourself until you start to believe it - a test score, good or bad, is not a measure of you or your worth.

You are a beautiful, gifted and creative person.

I know everyone else here has said it like twenty times already, Lia, but you are not a failure at all. Don't let a test score make you think so lowly of yourself. :/ ♥
