So... last week was an absolute blast. Officially -- avengangle you and the boy are NOT allowed to laugh.

I attempted to install ubuntu. And in the end... completely uninstalled my computer. I missed the little thing in the install that was about partitioning my harddrive. Yeah. Missed that. Totally uninstalled XP. And it took about 3 days to get it back. Especially as I nearly had a heartattack trying to find the drivers for my video card, sound card and wireless card. Not so fun. Really, really not.

In other news... theatre is going off... somewhat without a hitch. We open tonight and I'm going to be very glad when this week is done. It's just... sucked. Patrick still can't conduct.

So a question to the flist. Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, it's not good enough? Yeah. That's how I feel right now.

To my flist -- tell me something good that's happened to you this week. Hopefully everyone else has had a better week than I have.

My class was canceled monday, and they cast Jim Broadbent as Slughorn :) Been my happy mantra all week. And today, my boss got a grant she'd applied for, so I technically have work as long as I want it.

Well, anyway, I have just finished a piece of incredibly rich carrot cake, and Ben let me eat his frosting. That was good. :)

I've had a pretty crappy week, too, and it looks like it's only going to get worse. But some good things - I'm about 17 minutes away from finishing the audiobook of DH and I just saw a video in my Educational Psych class of one of B.F. Skinner's pigeons playing a tiny piano with its beak, which greatly amused me. Sometimes you have to latch on to the little things, you know?

I had a booty call Monday night, and another one tomorrow. Those count as good things, right?

I 100% know where you're coming from on the "no matter what you do" scenario. Sometimes, you just have to wait things out. Sometimes, when it's something you really really love, it's a wake up call, and you find it's better to just walk away and never look back, all the while discovering you're the better for it. and sometimes, doing everything you can turns into doing everything you can, and doing everything you thought you couldn't, too. Remember what your parents were told on their wedding: sometimes a relationship is 50/50, sometimes it's 20/80, and sometimes, it's 115/-15. Maybe it's time to go 115%?

The best advice I have ever been given is, "Don't make an ultimatums unless you're willing to give something up." Maybe it's time you start making ultimatums, cause lord knows, Lia, you're ready to give something up.

I've definitely been there. I'd say a lot of the times were depression related, but not all of them.

Something good that happened to me this week?

I found Elizabeth Moon's LJ (OMGOMGOMG!), if you don't know her, she's a fabulous author, one of my favourites. And she personally gave me some writing advice (surreal!!), which caused something to click, something I'd needed. And I've started writing in earnest again.

So ya, a fantastic few days for me. ^_^

In good news, news:Umm….*ponders* oh! I figured out why my query in access wasn’t working! Turns out, when you use multiple criteria lines in one column, you need to copy your singular criteria lines from other columns to create the same number of set criteria in each column, otherwise it won’t recognize the criteria from one column to the next!!! =D


… yes, it’s that fricking complicated/retarded.
