I... might have a job.

A job that does not involve working with children. *squee* It's, from what my dad explained, working at one of the local college radio stations as an assistant and basically doing all sorts of odd jobs. It sounds REALLY awesome. Plus, if I get the job, I get to take classes at a discounted rate! XD

I have an interview for the job tomorrow. *frets* God it would be SO nice to have a stable job. Pay is a bit less than GEYSO, but it's totally worth it to get benefits and to be away from the children.

you know... since you love children so much... our band director at the middle school is looking for an assistant.

Actually -- middle school isn't as bad. It's the young kids I've been dealing with for the most part that are such a pain in my ass.

the kiddos that their parents are forcing them to play age? LOL...

As a bad mom/friend I was actually elated when I found out that the middle school band did not have strings. I know strings are a very important part of orchestra and are very valuable, but looking at cost, I would much rather buy a clarinet. I think we are lucky that Kimmie has the natural talent too... I have seen some of the other kids that are only in it because mom or dad want them to. They hate it and they make it harder for the rest of the kids.

Anyhow, when is your interview? Or was? (Bad cyber mom I know)

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk.

Actually -- for what Kimmie would have needed, it wouldn't have been that expensive for a violin. It's only us professionals that buy violins rather than cars...

Interview was yesterday, and I think it went decently, I think!

My understanding is that while we can upgrade, if she takes care of it (which remarkably she has) this clarinet can last through college easily. (I am hoping for a scholarship can you tell? She's already best in her class and one of the top clarinet players in the region ~ as of March for her age)

My niece plays the viola and my brother had spent twice as much on it as I did on the clarinet... either I got a good deal or her got an expensive instrument.

Anyhow... crossing fingers and thinking positive for the job. Steady and consistent employment that you enjoy is a good thing.
