So you RENT fans... And I know you're on this list.
Go to the OFFICIAL MOVIE site (not to be confused with the B'way site) and once the pop up loads, click on 'launch music player'.
GUH. OMG. I have no words.
Their voices are fucking amazing.
I swear they're better than the OBC -- they've had 10 years for their voices to mature (like in Adam's case when RENT was his first B'way role and we all know what a splash he's made since :D)
GUH. JUST GUUUUUUH. -- and so much of it's still sung which was what I was frightened of them changing.
*listens to the whole thing on loop*
WHY IS NOT FARKING NOVEMBER YEEEEET!?

However, I really, really miss OBC!Adam Pascal's voice. I think the strains on his voice and the cracking just sounded so much more passionate and intense, and I don't know if they basically told him, "Dude, you can't hit those notes, so shy away from them" or what because he drops lower on a lot of things. Which is extremely minor, but still. I find it amusing that I prefer the much less professional voice, heh. Hopefully the one that's much more trained and controlled will grow on me. The problem is that I know all the intonations to the songs like the back of my hand and I keep comparing and contrasting.

I don't know what they may have said to Adam... there are times I DO like the professional sounding voice (I think it's SADLY from all my training here) and there are times when I do miss how he was so raw.
But the good thing? The music doesn't suck at all -- which is what I was worried about.
