Okay... my AIM is acting really wierd. It doesn't go idle even if my computer is. I think it has something to do with my cloning program but me not able to go idle is a bad thing. It also just signed me off after I didn't touch it all night sleeping.

So, question for you guys. What AIM program do you use that allows you to run more than one instance of AIM as I need to clone my Screen Names (I have to run about 2-3 at once for multiple reasons). Automatic logging is a plus too.

[Poll #554375]

I'd really apprecite the feedback. Vote in the poll and comment as to how you like it. It'll help me figure out what to go from what I have. I'm currently using aiMutation if you're wondering.

*smooch* Thanks guys.

Edit And that was SO supposed to be "ticky" box. *sighs* I lose at life.

I used aimexpress sometimes, don't know if that would help you though. And if I need to run more than one screen name at a time (which currently I do for rpgs) I just link screen names which is avalible on the newest version of AIM.

I tried linking SNs once, but it made things really wonky on my computer for some reason... that's why I had to look into the other programs.

I use the newest version of AIM... It has it so you can link your screen names... I believe I have 4 or five on at one time... and you can jump back and forth too.. the only down side I see is if one is away they are all away... but you can put a different message up for each...

*nods* yeah, I saw that... but for some reason, linking screen names was always wonky for me. I don't know why.

I think there are like 5 AOL users in the whole fandom. Probably because AOL is a whore. I'd switch to something else, but I'm old and set in my ways.

I'm living at home this year, and I think this will be the year that I demand my parents get digital cable. Before now, I never pushed it because I was away at school so I had my own and it didn't matter what was at home... but two months of fighting with my siblings for phone line time and other assorted dialup impediments is pushing it.

Also, yeah. I think if I didn't have my little welcome screen I'd be horribly lost and confused (not to mention we *cant* get rid of it because my mom had all of her buisness stuff printed up with her AOL address on it... *facepalm*)

*jumps in*

I've tried begging for a DSL line for about 3 years whenever I'm home in the summer. Dad just pats me on the head and laughs at me.

Good luck, hon. May you get your DSL.

I use DeadAIM... I used to use Trillian and I've tried linking my screen names, but I like having a separate little buddy list window for each name so I don't end up flailing and getting things confused. I've never had a problem with DeadAIM, either, except having to reinstall the newest version of DA when a new version of AIM came out.

*nods* I finally found deadAIM to install and it seems to be going okay. That's the only thing that scares me about Trillian is not having separate buddy lists. I KNOW I'll get things confused.

I've used trillian on and off with regular AIM for years. I like trillian because I can log onto multiple AIMs, Yahoos, ICQ, IRC, etc. Also, it has auto-logging, and you can IM from behind away messages (which I know you can do on other clients, but not on regular AIM, which is why I switched back to trillian after using AIM for most of school). Oh, and it has e-mail alerts for yahoo and msn. Very useful.

The messaging from behind away is something I'd love. I just... the thing I don't know if I'd like is the merged contact list... as I'm one of those people who would TOTALLY screw something like that up.

But contacts from the different services show up in different colors, and you could always group your buddylists seperately? *shrug*

Trillian has EVERYTHING. Automatic logging, multiple sns on multiple messengers, etc.
