News about the weekend is coming. Also -- NEED to get another job to dump Starbucks like... ASAP. Becuase this schedule is absofreakinglutely insane.

But onto something totally different.

So, sad to say, the_leaky is shutting it's doors. We have about a month left to play then we're closing it. I'm going to be VERY sad to see it go and it was a really tough decision to make. It was a lot of discussion and figuring out the ramifications of things. We're all still wibbly, but we decided it was for the best.

However, as they say in Sound of Music when God closes a door he opens a window. Our window is a new game called stoatshead_hill and is something completely different than Leaky. If you're looking for a canon-based post-war game, you've come to the right place!


Stoatshead Hill: A new post-war Harry Potter RPG.

In the year 2004, the drawn out battle to rid the world of Voldemort is finally over and it's time to rebuild. Voldemort and his minions have taken out every Wizarding institution, from the Ministry, St. Mungo's, and Diagon Alley to Gringott's, Hogsmeade, and Hogwarts. With none of the familiar places to gather, the Wizarding populace has carved out a new haven for themselves in and around Ottery St. Catchpole and Stoatshead Hill, an area abandoned by Muggles during the war.

Everything old is gone, and now it is time for the witches and wizards of Britain to rebuild their world, brick by brick.

This is an RPG with a ton of room for creativity and character development. Many years have passed since the events of HBP, and characters may have married, divorced, had children, been turned into werewolves, changed allegiances, followed divergent career paths, and much more. Building from the ground up will mean developing new laws and new institutions in character, in-game. If you're interested in a plotty, adult RPG with all sorts of possibilities for character interactions in a new world that needs to be started from scratch after Voldemort's demise, please apply!

A Brush With Death...

Yeah, and that is the gods honest truth. It's not a title to scare and I'm still shaken up about it.

As everyone knows, I was in Cleveland this past weekend. Was going to head home early on Sunday, but I ended up sleeping in a bit, then splurged on Chipotle. Since, well, Erie doesn't have them.

So I ended up getting on the road around 11am. And I get to the edge of Cleveland (right around Willoughby) and I can't finish the turn to get onto I-90 (for you Cleveland folks -- it's right where 271 and 90 meet to then head into Mentor). And I couldn't get onto I-90, the exit was blocked due to an accident.

Do the detour and after a little bit of running around, I manage to get onto I-90. And... I see the accident. There... wasn't anything left of this car. It was basically destroyed, on its roof and the guardrail was completely torn up. So I was a bit wibbly on the way home, especially thinking that, if I would have left earlier it could have been me in that accident.

Didn't think much about it. Then Dad brings home the paper and on the front page... is the accident. Guy from Cleveland going to school at Mercyhurst. And yes, the accident was fatal.

I'm... yeah. Talk about something to give you a shiver.
