Orchestra Concert

So the concert last night absolutely rocked my world. I've never been more enamoured at a concert than I was last night: sitting under the stars and watching it get darker and darker and the stars come out... the sounds of nature around as the Missa Solemnis played on. At one point I was laying back on the blanket and felt like that last scene of Immortal Beloved when Beethoven is laying in the pond and surrounded by stars as the 9th Symphony plays on.
It took us FOREVER and a day to actually get out of there. The three of us just sat on the lawn for a bit picking the concert apart... not that there was a lot TO pick apart of course as it was the Cleveland Orchestra but it's then that I've realised I'm sorta becoming a music snob. I don't know if I really like this. I mean, I always used to appreciate everything, but I was bitching as heartily with everyone else that the soprano kept scooping notes. I know this is part of my education to become a better musician... but how much is really too much?
Then trying to get OUT of there with I don't know how many other people... *cough* well, that is after we found our car. Yeah... kinda forgot what lot we were in. Which lead to a nice chunk of time wandering around these two massive parkinglots looking for our nice BLACK car in the pitch dark. Heh. Not exactly fun. And bumper to bumber getting out of there.
No wonder I had a migraine by the time I left... or it could have been the heat. I'm not doing well with it this year and I think it's my migraine drug. I can't control my body temp so it can be 90+ degrees outside and I'm not sweating at all. That's probably a problem. I had a headache when I left... by the time I got home it was so bad that light hurt. I haven't had one of those in a long time and it almost was enough to make me sick. (yeah, TMI... but oh well.)
Other than the massive headache which even now is just lingering... that's how bad it was... last night was absolutely amazing. It's almost enough to make you not want to go to a concert hall again and just listen to outdoor concerts.
