Oye Gevalt

I owe comments like crazy. I will get to them -- promise. I have, however, been forced to get up at an ungodly hour two days in a row -- making for a VERY tired Lia at night.
Yesterday -- sucketh mightily (as Alex would say). I had the thesis defense. And found out, consequently, that I basically have to rewrite about 60 or 70% of it. I have to take out a ton of stuff, fix other stuff and they figure that we can have everything wrapped up by... (drumroll please) October.
*headfacedeskblender*
At least now, Mom won't be questioning how much time I spend on teh computer. On the other hand... I wanted this to be DONE. Over. Kaput. Finito. Finished.
And now it's back to work. AGAIN. At least everyone said the ideas themselves were good. It was just organisation and a bunch of other stuff -- which Hartzell could have TOLD me before I submitted it, but you know. *sigh*
On the other hand, I got them all to laugh during said meeting. Strasser was talking about how some words in the English language are always misused.
Strasser: Like... unique. Something can't be more unique or less unique. Another one of those words is dead.
Me: But you can be almost dead or mostly dead.
Other Professors: *pause -- then crack up laughing*
Anyone care to re-write a thesis on Stephen Sondheim?
