computer woes
Jul. 19th, 2005 11:06 pmWell, this time they've taken the cake.
Everyone, I have a strange request. Pray for a power surge and that my computer gets fried any time between now and August 5th so that I can send this POS computer back to the manufacturer. Dad and I spent about 30 mins on the phone tonight with the warranty people and got NOWHERE with them. One person said everything was a software problem and the other people said it was a hardware problem.
In otherwords, no one wants to take the blame for the fact that my computer is a POS.
The had me take my computer back to *SHUDDERS* Windows ME... or as I like to call it "mistake edition". I have NO messenger programs (though I'm in the process of redownloading AIM temporarily). At least my modem works better than it has. Used to connect at 31 K/s and now it's at 46.6 K/s. Downstairs it was 48 K/s so at least THAT'S better.
Dad and I are going to (hopefully) get XP installed tomorrow but I don't know how long the lack of messenger programs could run. It could be a day or two (woe) untill this gets straightened out... which sucks as I finally got my summer cleared out.
In other words, cross your fingers that the XP install works and everything is PERFECT or I get a power surge. One or the other would be brilliant right about now.
