Fuck Me.

So, I just saw the new Law School rankings. Yes, I was supposed to be going to bed, but I saw something that said they were out.

Pace dropped from T3 to a T4 school.

I could fucking CRY. They were the ones saying they were moving up in the rankings. And now, I could have gone to CSU that WAS a T3. And instead I withdrew, thinking that I'd be better off at Pace and near NYC and the opportunities they had for international law.

And now they've dropped in the rankings. And I'm paying THIS much fucking money to go to the lowest fucking ranked school.

God dammnit. This was the last fucking thing I needed. Shit.

*squishes* I'm so sorry. Maybe they will go up in the rankings? Especially with you there?

I don't really know what the ratings mean, but that sucks. *hugs you*

Sorry, babe. What about reapplying to CSU for the winter semester (or trimester, or however it works there) and dropping Pace altogether? If you're going to pay that much for law school, you should get the education you want to get. Don't settle.

When I was at American, they dropped a lot, and Fordham, which I turned down (they offered me a small scholarship but DC was still a smidge cheaper) was skyrocketing up and it was upsetting as *fuck*. But a large part of why American dropped had to do with physical plant, as the school buildings sucked but the school was building a new space a mile away and of course the rankings didn't look at that and the building didn't open until the January after I graduated anyway.

Anyhow, what matters more than the ranking before you start is the ranking the year you graduate - and where it goes from there. So (a) can you still change school choices if you truly want to, and (b) maybe you should talk to the school on Monday or Tuesday to see what they are saying. Take it with a grain of salt but it isn't the be-all and end-all of it.

If you want to work International Law, it still sounds like you made the right choice. They likely still have the same professors teaching - which means that the professors are still offering the same quality of education, no matter what label you put on it. Further, since Pace specifically has an Intl. Law subprogram, they're going to have access to the programs, internships, and resources that you need to get your foot in the door.

FWIW, most of the law schools in NC are T4's, including mine. And most of the people who graduate from them still get jobs, and are successful. It's not where you go, it's what you do with it.

I have no idea how US schools are ranked, but that sucks, hon. *hugs you*
