Hollywood, please stop doing remakes. Someone give them an original idea and stop fucking with my child hood classics, plz.

So far, the remakes I've heard of are My Fair Lady, Rocky Horror Picture Show and now this... not counting all the ones that have already graced the film scene. Just... no.

You can add: Robocop, Footloose, My Bloody Valentine, Friday the 13th, and like two other 80s film to the 'remake' list. I was just ranting about this the other day to Heather regarding the lack of originality and rape of my freaking childhood with these awful remakes. Grrr!

The horror films I'd always stayed away from because I'm a gigantic wuus. BUT. Footloose and Robocop? WTF?

*grumble* It is the rape of your childhood. Please, someone tell me what was so bad about the original Willy Wonka? Yes, I love Johnny Depp. I did enjoy parts of the remake. BUT. Gene Wilder = Wonka. End of discussion IMHO.

I love Jackie, but....no. No no no no no no. It's bad enough we're getting Will Smith's kid foisted off on us in basically everything now. He's not a bad actor but there are probably 100000000 other kids who would be just as good. Feh on nepotism.

He is a cute kid. I've only seen clips of him in Pursuit of Happyness, but he seems to have some talent. I'm just kind of sick of Will Smith and his annoying wife to be honest, so their kids are going to annoy me even more.

Oh no. nonononono. MTV is remaking Rocky Horror? (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117989391.html?categoryid=13&cs=1) They'll end up casting all these Teen Pop Actors. And I'm going to have to protest the damned movie. arrrrgh

And I'm just as upset about My Fair Lady! Sure, revive it on stage. But...*sigh* they really are raping our childhoods with all the remakes.

I read the My Fair Lady bit and my heart just shattered. That's my all time favorite musical. That is wrong on so many levels.

Its not even just our own things that Hollywood is butchering. State of Play is an amazing 6 hour British miniseries, and I mean amazing, and Hollywood is destroying it too. *weep*
