LSATs -- It's Over!!

Well, I survived. Barely, but I survived.

Thanks for all the hugs and well wishes. I think they really did help. I'm honestly not sure how I did. Leaving the test centre I was so insanely disappointed. Three months of studying and the test nicely kicked my ass. I think my first section ended up being the experimental (having three Logic Reasoning sections is nothing short of cruel and unusual punishment). The Logic Games totally killed me. One of the games had six entities and THREE were floaters. One of the others was worded strangely and a third had a vertical setup which, after spending a few days at TLS hasn't been used on the LSAT since the mid 1990s.

One consolation prize: hearing a girl just before entering the room say 'man. I just took my first practice test a couple days ago. Man is it hard!'

Realistically, I'm hoping for a -10 to -12 curve (aka -- you can miss 10 and still get a 170) and will end up with a 168. But at this point? I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up in the upper 150s (which makes me not at ALL happy) and will end up retaking the exam in October. Joy.

Once the scores are released, I'll have more indepth coverage of the LSATs. As of right now... I'm trying to relax and get my life back to some semblance of normalcy.

♥ I hope everyone has had a good week!

This also means I start working on my TR app, right?

Well congrats on being done at any rate. ^^ The logic stuff would probably have kicked my bum as well. I'm not sure how rational I could be when all I really wanted to do was collapse into a wibbling pile of goo.

God, that girl... I mean, I've never been one for practicing for these kinds of tests, but seriously? For the LSAT I'd make an exception. Chee-rist.

Feels SO good to be done. Though I still feel in a fog. All that ramping up and then, so abruptly, it's all done and over with. The Logic Reasoning, surprisingly, didn't make me wibble as much. The games this time? Were an absolute mess. I was a pile of goo by the end!

Tell me about it! I freely admit that I usually don't study much for these exams. SATs, ACTs and GREs... I did a little bit, but nothing like the LSATs. Still... knowing how hard the test is? You'd think... *shrugs*

My aunt was telling me about a former student of hers (she's a hs teacher) who decided she wanted to go to Columbia for their international law program, but who hadn't taken the LSAT yet. So she took it, didn't bother to study, and quite naturally did very badly (well, for trying to get into Columbia, so I'm guessing mid-150s) -- and then took it again, apparently without much studying, and similarly did poorly. So now she's trying to get into Columbia by sheer force of will.

People, you gotta study for the LSAT, because EVERYONE does.

Congrats on being done and having it behind you! For me, I always think I do far more poorly on standardized tests than I thought I did. That was expecially true with the GRE.

When do you get your results?

<33333333333333333 Congrats on having it over with. Here's hoping it turns out well. If not this time, then the next, because it WILL happen for you. (I demand it.)
