The Brothers Grimm
Well, I went to see The Brothers Grimm this afternoon with Carol, Tim and Jono.
As it just came out, the thoughts are behind an LJ-cut.
I'm not sure what I thought about this to be honest. It was a different movie and actually, I forgot it was billed as "horror" until today. >< It really wasn't that horror-ific so I was glad for that. I'm not big on the scary movies.
As Jon said when we were done, it was a beautiful movie to watch and that it was. The cinematography really was pretty, though I wasn't a fan of all the filters they used. At times, it was almost like a white filter was used for the one town. Now I'm a huge fan of the cool filters but this one was almost WHITE.
It also seemed like there was a lot of holes in the movie. This is something I'd like to see a director's cut of to see what was let out. After a point, it was like all the stories just jumbled together and they had to tie up all the loose ends so things seemed to be coming from left field.
The good though? Acting was phenomenal. And Jonathan Pryce was in it and he ALWAYS rocks my world. Music rocked too. XD
The other really interesting thing was how they interwove all of the Grimm fairytales throughout the film. You could see hints of a lot of them throughout and it was very interesting to see. (Though me the Music Theatre nut that I am kept seeing strains of Into the Woods in everything -- how they combined the fairytales. And of course, the first time they showed the Queen's tower I heard Rapunzel's theme in my head. *shifty glance*)
It's a good flick. I'd say go see it. :)

It is a good movie. I'm sure it'll get there. Hell, it's in Cleveland. XD
