I'd be interested to read that Trace Memory fic. It's one of the few of the novels that I enjoyed, and had half-decent characterisation. Admittedly, I haven't read many (doing all my TW novel reading sitting in Borders), but I didn't like the Twilight Streets at all, and so many people rave about that one.
To make myself feel better, I'm plotting a writing experiment that doesn't go anywhere near the Season That Never Was. It's pre-Reset, even. Kind of nervous, since I haven't done much dialogue in TW fandom, but it does have a cracking joke in it that's too good to waste. So, I'm kicking my muse into gear! I haven't written anything postable since writing a cheer-up fic for Sam when he broke his leg. A couple of unpostable things that could, technically, be knocked into shape, but the most polished of them is kinda melancholy, and I don't really want to be playing in the angst-pool right now.
