9-11 and RPG musings

Well... It's nearly 1pm... and I've been sitting here thinking a lot about 9-11 as a lot of people have been posting about. It's hard to imagine that it happened 4 years ago. I, like a lot of people I'm sure, still remember exactly where I was that day and will probably never forget that day either. 9:45 am we learned about it in Senior Religion seminar. After the bell run at 9:56, I went to my Humanities class where the TV was already on and we watched the news for the next 90 minutes.

I never saw either tower come down. I was too busy running down to the theatre office every ten minutes trying to call my mom to see if she had heard from my cousin yet. My cousin lived (and still does) in Queens but worked in Manhattan. I didn't know if Lisa had an audition down in that part of town and would have been down there early that morning. All I could think about was if something had happened to her because Lisa and I have always been SO close.

It was a horrible day... for everyone -- those who lost family and those who, like me, sat and watched the events unfold on a television monitor.

On a happier and lighter note. I'm finally getting back into the swing of role-playing again. My muses are back in full swing and are happy to be playing once again and this makes me UBER happy. I think I need to let Bella out a bit more for Evinco, even if she does tend to scare me, but that's beside the point. All the games I'm in are going great and that makes me happy.

My Sailor Moon game I'm in... the first game I EVER joined I don't know how many years ago, is now flourishing over on GJ. So if Sailor Moon is your thing... let me know. We have some great characters open. XD

And even happier news... I have a wonderful new game right now that I'm really, really excited about. It seems I now have not one but TWO evil enablers in regards to RPGs around here... *glares at froda_baggins and inell* About a week ago, the lovely Inell poked me and said the_leaky was in need of a Ron. I have never played Ron before but she poked and prodded and so I applied... and I got in. And am having an absolute blast. So if any of you guys out there want a nice PWP rpg to follow, Leaky is for you. :) andweneedafewotherpeopletoo*cough*

ETA: alright... not completely PWP as there's a lot of nice beautiful plot. XD see this weekend.

On 9-11 I was in solfege and then keyboard class. No one in the con knew about it yet, so I went back to my dorm room and found a note on the door from my roommate that said "Turn on the news". I turned it on right before one of the towers fell... I'm glad your cousin was ok though! My dad was supposed to be in one of the towers THAT MORNING but my mom guilt-tripped him into being her date at a library dinner and post-poning his NY trip by about a week. (phew!). Scary stuff...
Our choir concert tonight is in honor of 9-11. Every year since then the Chorale has sung a requiem for the victims. This is my first choir concert EVER, and it's going to be a rather emotional one!

That is such scary stuff... especially with your dad... *shudders* amazing how fate can just step in like that, isn't it?

Yeah... it'll be an emotional night. *hugs* Along with tonight *pause* wish me luck at the meeting. I think I'm going to need it.
